The Lyemance Chimney Top Damper mounts on the top of your chimney. The perfect location to create an airtight seal. From the damper, a stainless cable drops down the flue and attaches to a handle. The handle is mounted in the firebox to be easily reached for convenient opening and closing.

When pulled closed, this chimney top damper seals with a rubber gasket, not metal to metal. This special gasket creates an air tight seal so no heat or air conditioning is lost up your chimney. Likewise, a closed damper will eliminate downdrafts, rain leakage, and prevent entry of pests.

Sizing Your Chimney Top Damper

The Lyemance Chimney Top Damper is available in 8 convenient sizes including a 12″ round for those rare round flue liners.

It is imperative that you properly size your chimney top damper. Getting a damper that is too large for the flue tile you are installing it on will prohibit the damper from working. Getting a damper that is too small for your fireplace could cause your fireplace to smoke back into the living area.

Two Measurements You Must Take Before Ordering

Measure the width and length of the flue tile you are installing the damper on. Each size damper fits specific inside flue sizes. You will find this information below.

Measure the width and height of your firebox opening. Multiply the width x height and divide by 12. This will give you the  minimum cross sectional area of the damper you will need. You will also find this for each damper size below.
